Timeline Procedure Bachelor applicants Link
NSYSU follows a university-wide admission schedule for international degree students. The program application and the NSYSU Scholarships application are submitted within the same online system and share the same deadlines. The exact dates of result announcement and semester start change year-by-year; the applicant should refer to the Application Guide (click here) for the most recent, condensed version for IDPMST) published by the Office of International Affairs (OIA).

- Step 1. Identify a potential advisor
- Review the List of Faculties of the Five Divisions on the IGPMST website
- Contact potential advisors by email to discuss research fit and supervision
- An online meeting with potential advisor is recommended to ensure mutual understanding
- Applicants are encouraged to consult current students
- Step 2. Check eligibility and program requirements
- Make sure you meet the qualification for international students (residency status, degree qualifications, etc.)
- Review the documents required for IGPMST

- Step 3. Prepare required documents
- For those applying for the NSYSU Doctoral Scholarship (tuition waiver), a signed Consent Form (download here) from the advisor is mandatory
- English proficiency certificate is mandatory unless the applicant meets NSYSU’s exemption criteria, specified in the Application Guide

Admission Route for Bachelor-only Applicants
Applicants with only a bachelor’s degree are encouraged to apply for a master’s program in the College of Marine Sciences first. Master’s students with outstanding research performance may apply for a transfer to the PhD program after at least one semester of study, upon strong recommendation from their advisor and approval by the admission committee.
